Theodor Bilharz Research Institute Organizes a Workshop on Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship Using Artificial Intelligence Technologies
As part of supporting the government direction toward innovation and digital transformation, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director and Chairman of the Board of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, the institute organized a distinguished workshop entitled “Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship through Artificial Intelligence Technologies” with the participation of several faculty members, researchers, and individuals interested in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Mostafa Amin Ibrahim, Assistant Professor of Educational Technology and Program Manager at the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. During the session, he reviewed the latest applications of artificial intelligence in supporting innovation ecosystems and accelerating the transformation of research ideas into applicable projects. He also presented a range of smart tools and platforms that support entrepreneurs and researchers.
In his remarks, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz affirmed that the institute places strong emphasis on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, noting that investing in building researchers’ capacities and empowering them to utilize modern technologies—particularly artificial intelligence—represents one of the key pillars for maximizing the practical value of scientific research and strengthening its role in serving society.
He also praised the efforts of the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund in supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within academic and research institutions, expressing his appreciation for the fund’s quality programs and initiatives that contribute to discovering and nurturing scientific talents, and enabling researchers to transform their research ideas into applied projects with developmental and economic impact, in line with Egypt’s vision toward building a knowledge-based economy.
For her part, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Attia Hassan, Coordinator of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute at the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund, explained that organizing this workshop comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation with national entities that support innovation, and raising researchers’ awareness of the latest tools and technologies that open new horizons for transforming scientific knowledge into developmental and economic opportunities.
The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the importance of employing artificial intelligence technologies as an effective tool to support scientific research and enhance innovation, amid active engagement from participants who shared insights and ideas on ways to develop research projects and transform them into more competitive and sustainable initiatives, contributing to keeping pace with rapid technological transformations and creating innovative solutions that meet future needs.
