As part of Egypt’s leading role in supporting and strengthening scientific cooperation with African countries, and in light of the distinguished status of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute as one of the region’s foremost specialized research centers, and under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the Institute and Chairman of the Board, the Department of Medical Malacology hosted Dr. Fotio Lambou Agathe, Lecturer at the Department of Animal Biology and Physiology, Faculty of Science, University of Buea, Cameroon, along with the student Ndumbe Daniel Wonjah Lifaka, for a scientific and training visit aimed at developing practical and research skills in studying the life cycle of schistosomiasis parasites and laboratory handling of the intermediate host, in addition to learning about the latest technologies used in this field.

In line with the Keenness of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute to enhance its role as a leading scientific center regionally and internationally, and under the patronage of Professor Ahmed Abdel Aziz, the Director of the Institute and Chairman of the Board, the Biobank Center of Excellence at the Institute hosted Professor Henry Silverman, the professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the United States and the expert in the field of clinical research ethics, along with several representatives from the Arab Biobank Network (ArabBioNet).

Prof. Ahmed Abdelaziz, Director of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) and Chairman of the Board of Directors, welcomed Prof. Hossam Osman, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Innovation, Artificial Intelligence, and Scientific Research. Prof. Osman attended the Institute’s Board of Directors meeting, after which he delivered an important lecture on the National Strategy for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

This morning, Prof. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of  Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, received in his office Prof. Wafaa Kandeel, former Director of the Institute, during a friendly visit in which she extended her congratulations to him on getting his new position. She wished him continued success and prosperity in carrying out his duties.
