Driven by a vision to maximize the impact of scientific research and translate its outcomes into practical solutions that enhance healthcare and foster innovation, Theodor Bilharz Research Institute (TBRI) continues to strengthen its position as a leading center of scientific excellence and a national hub for medical research. This is achieved by expanding its network of collaborations with specialized scientific institutions and establishing effective strategic partnerships that open new horizons for scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange, thereby reinforcing its research capabilities and keeping pace with global advances across diverse medical and research disciplines.

Within this framework, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, represented by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Acting Director of TBRI and Chairman of the Board, and the MARC Center for Medical Services and Scientific Research, represented by Dr. George Maher, General Manager of the Center. This milestone reflects the commitment of both institutions to establishing a sustainable scientific partnership aimed at advancing clinical and translational research, strengthening research collaboration in Egypt, and exploring broader regional and international opportunities for cooperation.

The MoU establishes collaboration in several strategic priority areas, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and genomics research, preclinical immunology studies, clinical research and clinical trials, as well as supporting scientific research, innovation, and capacity building for researchers. The partnership will also promote cooperation in other areas of mutual scientific interest, contributing to high-impact research outcomes that directly enhance healthcare services and improve the quality of medical care.

The signing ceremony was attended by a delegation from TBRI, including Prof. Dr. Eman El-Ahwany, Head of Immunology and Therapeutic Evaluation Division; Prof. Dr. Omar Sabry, Secretary-General of the Institute and Head of Hematology Department; Associate Prof. Walaa El-Maadawy, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and TBRI Coordinator of the Agreement; Associate Prof. Safia Samir, Director of the President's Office for External Relations; and Associate Prof. Eman El-Wakeel, Assistant Professor of Parasitology and Supervisor of the Animal House. Representing MARC were Prof. Dr. Rami Aziz, Head of the Life Sciences Research Laboratories, and Dr. Walaa El-Din Ahmed, Director of Business Development. Both parties emphasized the importance of integrating their expertise and research capabilities to create added value for Egypt's scientific and medical ecosystem.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz stated that this collaboration reflects the Institute's strategic direction toward expanding institutional partnerships with specialized scientific organizations, based on the belief that scientific research founded on integration and knowledge exchange is the cornerstone of generating applied knowledge capable of addressing healthcare challenges. He further noted that this partnership represents a significant addition to the Institute's journey of excellence by supporting advanced research, creating a stimulating environment for researchers, and enhancing the development of innovative solutions that positively impact patients and the healthcare system.
